Radio Station WIIFM: Keeping stakeholders engaged through "what's in it for me" communication

Thursday, October 29, 2009, 5:00 pm

McGill University Library (Cybertheque), 3459 McTavish St

Information professionals are constantly called upon to demonstrate the value of their services and justify the investment in them, but it is typically difficult to get our message through to decision makers and stakeholders. Ulla de Stricker discusses the challenges inherent in getting and keeping their attention and suggests a communication approach based on understanding their perceptions and the “what’s in it for me” factor, all centered within the organization’s overall strategic goals.
