A non-cataloguer’s introduction to RDA

From the CLA Montreal Chapter
A non-cataloguer’s introduction to RDA: A presentation for public services librarians (and all other library staff and students) by Chris Oliver

Ever wondered about the mysterious world of RDA but were intimidated by the cataloguing jargon? Want to know how changes in cataloguing will affect your work and your clients? Even if you’ve never heard of RDA (hint: it’s the new cataloguing standard that replaces AACR2), this introductory presentation will get you up to speed without getting bogged down in all the technical details.

The CLA Montreal Chapter invites you to join us for a presentation by Chris Oliver, Coordinator of Cataloguing and Authorities at the McGill Library and Chair of the Canadian Committee on Cataloguing. A question and answer period will follow the main presentation.

Date: Wednesday, March 9th
Time: Refreshments at 5:15 pm, presentation at 5:30. The event will wrap up around 7:00.
Location: McGill Humanities and Social Sciences Library (3459 McTavish Street) – please ask at the Information Desk for the exact room location
Cost: $10 ($5 for students) - light refreshments will be served.

Everyone is welcome.

Please RSVP by March 7th to Graham Lavender: glavender@gmail.com
