In a story that reinforces the special bond between a mother and her child, Cinnamon baby is a story about a baker named Miriam whose bread makes “noses twitch and tongues tingle.” She always baked the cinnamon bread last as it was her favorite. One day a man name Sebastian comes in to buy her cinnamon bread. After a year of buying her bread they are married and soon have a newborn baby. For three days all is well the baby is happy, however on the fourth the baby starts to cry, she cries at everything and nothing will soother her. Finally Miriam realizes what she needs to do to comfort her baby.

From beginning to end the story along with the illustrations allows the readers to engage their senses and imagination, from trying to catch the wonderful smell of the freshly baked bread to the constant sound of a baby crying. A great story for children age 4-7.
