If you are thinking about heading down the I87 to New York City, make sure you take some time to visit the NYC Public Library at 42nd and 5th, where you can take in the marvelous exhibit, The ABC of it: Why Children’s Books Matter.
The Cree nation of Eeyou Istchee is a collection of 9 communities on the eastern side of the James Bay. With a population of over 18 000 and a territory of over 450 000 square km the James Bay Cree became a tight knit community with the creation of the James Bay Northern Quebec Agreement (1975).
On March 5th, 2014, the ABQLA hosted a half-day event: ‘Financial Literacy 101: Helping Yourself and Your Patrons with Financial Literacy’. The goal of this workshop was to walk librarians through key areas of financial literacy and to discover useful resources for learning more about financial literacy and finance.
On March 25 2014, the ABQLA sections of Public Libraries, School Libraries and the Youth section, hosted an evening to discuss a current problem in our schools: the trouble of bullies and bullying.
The College and Research Libraries Section hosted an informative event on Monday, March 24, 2014 entitled “Perspectives on Technology: Librarians, Users, and Collections.”

For a Valentine’s Day treat, Kate Rozon, one of our executive first-year members, offered personalized heart-shaped cookies with red and pink frosting for students and faculty at McGill.
Joseph Hafner, Associate Dean, Collection Services, McGill University Library, led a workshop on customer service for Information and Library Technologies students at John Abbott College.
