Filled with a mish-mash of kooky photos and answers to twenty-three need to know questions, Cynthia Pratt Nicolson’s, “Totally Human: Why We Look and Act the Way We Do”, delivers what young inquiring minds want to know about human bodies and behavior.  Not only do children get well-researched answers to questions like, “Why do you burp and fart?”, but the answers are age appropriate and will capture the interest of any school age child. The text is divided on most pages with the answer taking up most of the space and a right side panel providing related information or anecdotes.  In addition to an index, a glossary is provided for sixteen terms to promote better comprehension of the material presented in the book. The hilarious images paired with fascinating questions and surprising answers are sure to provide a laugh and entice children to learn exactly what makes them human.
