A Planet Is a Poem beautifully combines both poetry and science together in a journey through the solar system. Each page looks at a different planet or aspect of the solar system in the form of a poem. The types of poems differ and for each poem, the page folds out to reveal scientific facts about the given part of the solar system and an explanation on the type of poem discussed. The illustrations are vibrant and engaging to all ages. This book would suit children between the ages of 8 to 12 years old. It would make an excellent addition to a school library for teachers working on an outer space unit or even a public library for kids who are fascinated by the solar system.
