From “field of flower, mountain air” to “celebrations under a sea of light”, Kate Hosford masterfully captures the unchanging and unconditional connection between a caregiver and their child, even if nature constantly changes around them. You’ll Always Be My Chickadee helps to evoke the feelings of a warm embrace of a caregiver, as depicted on the front cover of the book. Local illustrator Sarah Gonzales’ soft, yet rich illustrations help to amplify the vastness of nature and a caregiver’s love. The enticing images and beautifully written, rhyming text makes it a great first read for early readers. It would also be a perfect story time read and would be a wonderful addition to any school, home, or public library catering to young children.
