Canadian author-illustrator Nicholas Oldland brings together six of his beloved stories from his Life in the Wild series in this children’s picture book omnibus. Readers embark on hilarious tales filled with quirky illustrations of Bear, Moose, and Beaver. In these stories, the three friends learn important life lessons on how to work through strong emotions, overcome fears, kindness and consideration of others, thinking before acting, teamwork, and friendship. A more cohesive sequence of the stories could have been thought out, but this book is otherwise delightful. Perfect for storytime, this wonderful collection will be a welcome addition at any school, public or personal library, and would also make a great gift to any child.
The six stories featured in this collection are: Big Bear Hug; Making the Moose Out of Life; The Busy Beaver; Up the Creek; Walk on the Wild Side; and Hockey in the Wild.
