Call for Nominations
The following positions are to be filled for the 2024-2025 Board of Directors:
- Vice-President/President Elect (3-year term)
- Treasurer (1-year term)
- 3 Directors (2-year terms)
CANDIDATES MUST BE CURRENT MEMBERS OF ABQLA and ACCEPT THEIR NOMINATION.
Current members may submit their own nomination, be nominated by another member, or nominate another member for one of the positions listed above.
All Board members are expected to:
- Attend monthly Board Meetings
- Participate in establishing ABQLA annual goals and objectives and working to see these are met
- Serve on committees to carry out the work of the Association
- Promote the Association and its activities
POSITION DESCRIPTIONS
Vice-President/President Elect
This is a three-year term, as the Vice-President becomes the President and then the Past President.
The Vice-President has the responsibility of forming a committee and organizing the annual conference, as well as assuming the duties of the President in that person’s absence.
In the second year, as the President, s/he presides at all meetings of the Board of Directors and sits on the Conference Committee. The President is the official ABQLA representative and spokesperson.
As Past President responsibilities include ensuring continuity, providing advice on previous Board decisions and chairing the Anne Galler Award Committee and the Nominations and Elections Committee.
Treasurer
This is a one-year term. The Treasurer is entrusted with the financial operations of the Association. S/he chairs the Budget Committee; works with the Executive Secretary, who carries out the daily accounting transactions; and serves as liaison with the Accountant of the Association.
Director
This is a two-year term. A total of six Directors sit on the Board. Directors assist the President by serving on ad hoc committees and keeping the President and the Board of Directors informed on current issues and concerns.
