Gilbert the Goblin and his sock slugs are back in this hilarious holiday picture book. Everyone knows that elves are so hardworking, but Gilbert thinks this is ho-ho-hogwash. In an effort to prove that he’s just as good as any Christmas elf, Gilbert sneaks into Santa’s Workshop and gets to work. But it turns out that this lone goblin might need a little bit of help. Gilbert learns the magic of Christmas relies on the power of teamwork! I love all of Alex Willan’s The Worst books. This one is just as cute as the rest, but with a holiday spin. I like that it focuses on the elves and not on Santa, and that they are drawn with different skin tones. The book jacket is shinier than the hardcover.
