The quiet Mumfords’ lives are turned topsy-turvy when, to their surprise, they bring home a Metal Baby. Used to quiet activities, such as crosswords and crocheting, the Mumfords are at a loss when they are unable to soothe their baby. All attempts to pacify him just make him louder and more METAL. Just when things couldn’t get any worse, Metalpowerpalooza announces Metal Baby as their headliner… in the Mumfords’ backyard. The parents soon realize that perhaps embracing their child’s differences, rather than going against the grain, might just be the key to getting their baby to sleep, but will it last? This devilishly entertaining book is the perfect storytime read for any metalhead parent and/or librarian out there. With a short and easy to read text, it could serve as a great tool for early readers. Brandon James Scott’s vivid and lively illustrations only serve to complement the story. Metal Baby would be a great addition to any children’s library collection.
