Reg does not want to go to bed. Just the idea of bedtime fills his body with the itchies! His big sister Co-Co helps Reg to use his five senses and his imagination to help him breathe and imagine a lovely nature scene to help him wind down. Reg Takes a Trip helps caregivers and children alike learn to self-regulate and move through uncomfortable sensations. The text is rich and descriptive and artfully organized around full-colour illustrations, using colour, size, and shape for emphasis. Reg Takes a Trip is well-suited for group story time, as there is still a fair amount of text on the pages but is equally engaging for one-on-one reads. The back of the book includes useful resources for educators and parents on regulation and co-regulation exercises and offers suggestions for its use.
