The first book in a graphic novel series for early readers, Will and Wade and the Way-Up-There is a whimsical tale of friendship, teamwork, and creative thinking. Best friends Willa the ostrich and Wade the penguin really want to fly. They try and try and try, but all their great ideas still leave them grounded. A great introduction to graphic novels, the formatting is easily understood. The bright cartoon images pull in readers, as does the simple, fun text. It is aimed for readers ages 5 to 7, but could easily work for younger and older kids too. At 7” x 9”, it is just the right size for small hands. Fun fact: the author lives in Montreal!
