Incredibly useful and inspiring, How to Be an Activist is a nonfiction title on the practical steps and advice towards making a difference. This book is a wealth of knowledge that advocates for community involvement, staying informed, and sharing passions. Throughout the book, interviews with numerous activists give insight into creating a team, dealing with negativity, and creating a more just society. Even if you do not consider yourself an activist by title, this book is still a great resource for personal development. The illustrations throughout the book are bright, colourful, and beautifully compliment the textual information. While the appeal of this work goes beyond its audience, middle- and high school-aged readers are the target audience.
