Michael Crowther - Bishop’s College
Barbara Rowell - Bishop’s CollegeLibraries are an important host to introducing, fostering, encouraging, and strengthening information literacy and technology in all their forms to their patrons. By presenting a schoolwide Tech Week, we provide many windows to look through, doors ajar to walk through, and opportunities to play with STEM in a safe and judgment-free environment. Young and old alike currently appear to be bombarded with new tech at a lightning pace. What better way to navigate this newness than collaboratively with one’s patrons in a library space? By this presentation’s end, one will have the tools, tricks, inspiration, and starting point to host a promotional week of events celebrating science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math in their public or school libraries.

Jessica Lange - McGill Libraries
Nailisa Tanner - McGill LibrariesProject management, when undertaken effectively, ensures resources are allocated and managed effectively and goals are met on realistic timelines. While McGill’s Library Technology unit had significant experience in project management, its practices had been learned informally. To address both these issues, over the past year colleagues undertook coursework in project management alongside reviewing the retrospectives from past projects. These two efforts combined led the team to reflect on its management practices and make improvements to workflow and documentation. This presentation reports on the process of this revision and how the changes brought more clarity and improvements to project management work. Library Technology work alongside diverse groups of colleagues and all units and libraries that engage in collaborative, project-based work can benefit from clearer documentation and more structured project management practices.

Claire Pienaar - Westmount Public Library
Sabine Plummer - Westmount Public Library
