Croc wakes up late for work as the river ferry. Preferring not to be too late, he decides to skip breakfast to save time, and plans to pick up donuts on the go. Hilarity ensues as his backup plans for sustenance don’t pan out, and all of his customers end up resembling delectable donuts. The short and simple text would make this picture book a good start for young children learning to read. It could also serve as an educational opportunity to teach children the importance of eating breakfast, in a fun way. Although the depictions of scenery in the background feel messy, the illustrations are funny and vibrantly coloured, which are sure to please young children. Overall, this picture book would make a good addition to any home, school, or public library catering to young children.
