For years, Clemmie has watched each woman in her family get their magic powers during the month of October. Will this year finally be her turn? The October Witches is a middle-grade fantasy novel about a young witch and her family, who have been cursed and can only express themselves through magic for one month. Follow Clemmie and her family as they navigate a way to make their magic last beyond October. This story brings cozy fall vibes, a giant pumpkin, and a beautifully told story about a young witch that is coming into her own. I really enjoyed the references to Arthurian magic, the quirky family members and the overall pacing of the story. This book would be a great addition to any elementary school or high school library’s middle-grade collection and for people that enjoy whimsical stories about witches and magic.
